This is an example of how I bring current events into my classroom. Everyday I read the paper in the morning before I come to school, and I always look for things that I think the children might be interested in. Of course, if there's a current event that's going on that the children will find interesting, well talk about that, but of course they always likes pictures of animals and things.
I take them and I talk about them during our morning message routine. And then, because the children often want to go back and look at the information or look at the picture, I'll graduate it and put it onto the door of our classroom. And the extra bonus of this is that the children can look at it of course when they're outside in the hallway, but what I find often, is that children in other classes often come by and I find them looking at the information on our door.
