One amazing type of technology in our classroom is a "SMART Board", which we're able to use to bring the world into our classroom. One of the things I love to do is to go to Tumble Books where there's tons of books that we can play on the SMART Board, and then every book becomes a big book. And there's even times where the author will be saying the book out loud, which is amazing. What's also great is that it's interactive, so the students can actually come up, take a pen and write on the SMART Board, and right now it's lowered down a lot so the kids are so excited that they can reach almost to the top of it as well. So we can make our own stories together by writing and sharing the pen. Whereas, I used to use charts for everything that I did, now the SMART Board replaces that so I'm able to make a chart, I'm able to fix and edit different things, have the students add to it, and then I save everything so that next year all my units are already laid out for me. So it's really efficient and the kids are completely engaged in it. Teachers go onto SMART Exchange and share their resources and ideas, so SMART Exchange is a great place to go before planning any lessons.
