Another example of a literacy center that we like to have is an oral retell of a book that we've read in the class. So, for example, we've read this book If You Give a Moose a Muffin in class as a group. We then place it at our literacy center and ask the group to re-enact the story using various props. This is a really great way for the students to retell the story. We may also put a book there and have a teacher directing the center, where the teacher will sit and read the book with the students as the students retell the story. This is also a really great opportunity for vocabulary development because they're using the words that theyve heard in the story.
