Teacher: Good job. Give yourself a marshmallow clap.
Activity Objective
The goal of Statue Game: Developing Listening Skills with an Energizing Song is to give students an opportunity to "get the wiggles out" so that they will be better able to focus in class. Students move their bodies along with the music and follow instructions in the song. Using action songs and games for breaks throughout the day facilitates classroom management with young children.
Quick Tips
Additional Comments:
- Having your students participate in an activity such as this early in the morning is a nice way to get them energized before starting your lesson. - Once students are familiar with how the activity works, you can ask a student volunteer to lead the class with silly movements for everyone to follow along.
