Teacher: Today, were going to look at our morning message. [Teachers name]s message is to you. So help me with the reading of the words. Here we go.
Teacher and Students: Dear Friends, Today is Thursday. We will visit the gym.
Teacher: Weve been learning about words, and we know that when letters are put together, they make up words. So, Im going to call upon a friend to come on up, and that friend is going to circle all the words they find in the first sentence.
Teacher: [Students Name], come on up. How many words do you count in the first sentence? Lets count them.
Teacher and Students: One, two, three.
Teacher: Im going to get you to write that number right there. Thank you, can you make the number three with me?
Teacher: Now Im looking for another friend to come on up, and that person is going to circle how many words they see in the second sentence. [Students Name], you come on up.
Teacher: Well can you count with me how many words in that sentence? And lets help [Students Name], here we go.
Teacher and Students: One, two, three, four, five.
Teacher: Which sentence do you think has more words? The first sentence that has three, or the second sentence that has five?
Teacher: [Students Name], which number is greater? Three or five?
Student: Five. Teacher: Five, so which sentence has more words, the first or the second?
Student: The second.
Teacher: The second sentence. Can we give our friend thumbs up?
