Amazing authors; you can be one, or you can read about one. This month, it's Phoebe Gilman and we've featured, The Balloon Tree. On this particular bulletin board, we were looking to integrate information I wanted them to know about and information they could share with me. I have put down the story elements of characters, setting, main idea, problem, and solution. They helped me brainstorm what I wrote. But more importantly, they had all the fun. They got to choose one story element, write about it in detail, and put it on a balloon that's sailing away with information about our new author. Now to introduce a new author each month, we need to focus on their biography. Who are they? Where do they live? What do they like to do? And we make a list of the stories that we're going to anticipate reading for the rest of the month.

The goal of Amazing Authors: Developing a Writing Style (Virtual Tour) is to examine the writing style of an author in order to inspire students to utilize a variety of techniques to enhance their writing.
