We are all Writing Wizards in my grade two class. We spend lots of time writing all different kinds of forms. Sometimes we write poetry, sometimes we write a procedure of how we made cookies, another day we might do a recount of a class trip. Sometimes we might even write about facts about different parts of the world that connect to our science and social studies units. But one of the things I wanted to focus on was the children, because in this book, they are the authors. So we talked about how to do an autobiography. We made points about key things that we should include, like information about our family, or where we live, our interests and our hobbies and so when we have our final product together, everyone can be an author just like the ones we read about every single day.
