My boys and girls love to do artwork in the classroom. We decided that we wanted to do more trees than anything. In the language arts we're working on possessive nouns. So we decided to choose the singular possessive noun and the plural possessive noun and do trees. The boys and girls cut out leaves themselves and they will randomly select possessive singular nouns and possessive plural nouns and place on the tree. And they will sort them according to the words that are on the branches.
Activity Objective
The goal of Tree Art: Understanding Possessive Nouns (Virtual Tour) is to explicitly teach the definition of possessive nouns and provide students with an opportunity to practice identifying possessive nouns.
