Showcasing student work in the hallway is a great opportunity for the rest of the school to know what we are working on. Behind me you can see art pieces that students created. After having learned about hieroglyphic art, they learned about how early Egyptian societies used to communicate through writing, and that was by using symbols of objects, people or animals. Students were able to look at how they write their name using those objects and they each created their own name on the poster cards that you see.
We also displayed information to tell the students in the school about how they could identify each name. Behind me you see a legend that is posted that represents an object with a letter. It was really interesting because, after this work was displayed, there were crowds of students standing around trying to identify whose name was posted up on the wall.
