Here we have our concepts of print, and we would begin by talking about how the book should be held, which everyone knows that the book should be held upright. So you would definitely not hold the book like this, nor like this, you would hold it upright so that you may read from left to right. And along with their concepts of print we have the author that we talk about, the illustrator, the characters, and the setting. And the students are taught these definitions at the beginning of the school year and its something that we practice daily. And to go along with our concepts of print, while I am reading the story, I will select the students to come up and put on the glasses and assist me in reading the big book.
