Magnetic Letters
Making Words in First Grade (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
At the beginning of the school year I taught the students how to recognize CVC words, CVCE words, vowel diagraphs, consonant diagraphs, and consonant blends. And so, these students are able to piece together words, for example if you notice the red is the vowel and the black tiles are the consonants. So they could piece together these words and they'll be able to identify what type of word this would be. Which this word is a CVC word, and CVC stands for consonant, vowel, consonant.

- Providing opportunities to practice making and spelling words through a fun and motivating game will also help students commit the words to memory and will also promote the automatic use of the words when communicating with others.
