Book Creator App
Making Own Books on Laptops and Tablets (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
Teacher: This is an app called Book Creator and we use it almost every day in writing workshop. This is where the students created their brainstorm and eventually an All About Book, topic of their choice. This particular student made a book All about Tae Kwon Do. Everything you see, he's created by himself. When we go to the next page we can see the brainstorm box. Each voice clip is an idea he had to make sure he had enough ideas for his book. Next he's built a table of contents. Typing is really easy and it's also easy to manipulate the words wherever you need them to go. On this particular page he used voice-to-text technology with the Retro Phone. So the words you see up here, match what he has recorded here. Student: Tae Kwon Do is from Korea. Master Yau is from Korea. You have to train a lot to be a master. Teacher: As you can see this app allows students to really show what they know. They can try out typing skills, they can record their voice, they can insert pictures, they can insert videos. And they can take a lot of control and really become their own author, illustrator and editor of a book.
