What's Happening Today?
Using a Daily Schedule to Manage Time (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
This is our classroom schedule, as you can see it's color coded. Anything that's in green are classes that happen in the classroom and classes that I'm teaching. Anything that happens in yellow are classes that happen out of the classroom and often take place with another class in another classroom. It's really important that the students take ownership of the schedule so they know what's coming next, and they can use it and they can have more predictability in their day. One really important thing we do is some days we discuss how the schedule should look. There's certain subjects that have to stay where they are, but there's many other subjects that we can decide as a class based on how we're feeling that day, where our energy is, what we can do to build the schedule. It's really important that students have some control and some choice over how their learning happens throughout the day.
