Shared Reading
Supporting Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary using Big Books in the Classroom (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
Reading to and with children is a very important part of a daily routine. Reading big books to the children is very much fun for them because they can all see the pictures that are in the book and hear the story being read. That also gets them excited to create their own books. And when they create their own books they're excited to draw pictures and write words, on every page to show that they, also, can create books and show an understanding of what was being told and read to them. When they are done they excitedly share their books with their other friends in the classroom. How wonderful it is to be able to create and have other people enjoy your creations.
