Check For Understanding
Using a Dry Erase Board and Sock as a Quick Assessment Tool (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
Assessment is always a challenge within a classroom environment. A quick, informal way of assessing whether the children are understanding what you're covering is by using a white board, with a dry erase marker, and a sock which they've brought at home, to erase and quickly move on to the next topic that you may need to assess or evaluate for the children's understanding. I can say a word, and ask the children: can you please write the sounds of the words that I'm saying? And immediately, they're writing the word, holding it up, and I can quickly assess if they've gotten it or not. So use your white boards for a very quick assessment.
