We have a wonderful IT department, which entered into our classroom and came into our environment, and introduced the children into the wonders of the iPad and what their responsibility was in order to be able to use the iPads individually. The iPads are brought to our classroom in this portable cart, which allows the children to have the availability of having an iPad individually. Teachers are trained how to use the technology, and prior to the use by the children, we are taught what is going to be available to us on the iPad. And we're also able to ask for whatever we would like to be placed on the iPad so that the children will be doing things that we're comfortable with within the classroom. I myself am a teacher who was not comfortable or familiar with technology before I had to learn what the wonders of having technology within the classroom were. And so when I entered into this school, I was trained and I was taught by our IT department how to use the iPads, how to use a computer. I even thought that the mouse is the little guy that runs around the house. And so for me, having the availability of all this wonderful technology is really amazing and outstanding. And before my children were able to use this, we sent letters home to let the parents understand as well, the wonders of using technology and the value of using technology within a classroom.
