Seasonal Art
Integrating Art and Writing in Kindergarten (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
Children enthusiastically use art as a spring board into reading and writing about units that we cover within our classroom curriculum. They can be writing about science, or math, or even a time of the month that it is. Seasons, anything that you are learning about in a classroom, the children happily will share that through their art. Incorporating units and themes is an integral part of a working classroom, and at this time of the year, it's Mother's Day. My children created, with finger paint, tulips; beautiful spring tulips for their moms, and then created vases to make a presentation for their mother on Mother's Day. The children happily made up poems that they added, and each one was unique and special because it was made up by the child for their mom; the very special person in their lives.
