Learning to Spell High Frequency Words in Kindergarten (Virtual Tour)
Transcript
On my word wall children will come up to the wall and they will use this wall to read words and when they're doing their writers workshop craft or they're doing any kind of written activity they might come up and find a special word and incorporate that within their writing. ...There are words in math that are used as well, and any area that the children can learn new vocabulary for reading and writing is special within our classroom. There are some very fun and wonderful activities that can be found in resource books that the children can use to have fun, while practicing and learning their tricky words or their sight words. In our classroom I have a game called Look and Find. Our Look and Find game is where I have hidden words that I've added from our tricky words or our sight words, around the room. The children have to find them in not obvious places it can be under their desks, it can be on their chairs. And they use these words because they need extra practice, but it's really lots of fun for them to find the words and use the words to read and write.
